One last hurrah!

My sister had a little get together for me at her house last Thursday evening. My good buddy, Tracy, and my mom also helped out - with a super yummy cream cheese pound cake and my favorite Mile High Strawberry Pie! Oh my goodness, these girls were nuts and I laughed so hard all night...I had so much fun and they gave our babies some really nice things. So sweet.

My buddy Tracy. We worked together at Deloitte and have known each other for 10 years...this girl is F-U-N-N-Y!

My friends Tina, Sherry, Jane and Sally. Tina and I have known each other since kindergarten and Sherry and I have been friends since my early 20's. I got to know Jane years ago through my sister and then there's Sally...my good friend (and roommate) for a long time...known her since I was in elementary school.

Cheri, who is in the green sweater, drove up from Atlanta with her little girl. We've been friends since elementary school and use to walk to get a Frosty at Wendy's when our brothers played soccer - back in the day when our parents could let us go out and play all day long and never worry about us.

The family - me, Andrea, mother and Lily.

My friends Christine and Rebecca. Christine and I have known each other since our early 20's when we worked together. She is 20 weeks pregnant herself! This is the girl who doesn't mess around - met her husband last summer, got married in the fall and is now pregnant...you go girl! Rebecca also worked at Deloitte and now our kids go to the same preschool - she's a hoot too!

show3

And then we have Rachel and Alison. We were also in the same kindergarten class and have known each other for over 30 years - are we seriously that old? Rachel and I were best friends in elementary school and I use to love to go to her house because they always had the Sweet Sixteen powdered donuts, noodles and gravy for Sunday dinner, and she had the most awesome Barbie dream house...with the elevator and everything! She's getting ready to go get her daughter from China and I'm so excited for her. These girls are FUNNY when they get together and provided some great commentary at the shower!

Here's me and my belly.

Again, me and my friend Sherry. I tell everyone this because it's the one and only time I've ever done this and it actually worked...Don and I set Sherry and her husband up on a blind date and look what happened!

It's Monday and I have a sick boy on my hands. He's had a runny nose for several weeks, but only one or two days had a slight temperature (99.5). But now he has a really bad cough and his temp is up to 100.5. So, we're calling the doctor this morning and hopefully heading that way sometime today. I also had a rough afternoon and evening - just a lot of Braxton Hicks that wouldn't go away. I feel better this morning after a good night's sleep, but if they start up again then I will be taking myself to the doctor today too. So, we'll see how this week goes...let's hope it turns into a pretty uneventful one!

Max, are you serious?

This is exactly what I asked Max yesterday when he informed me from the middle of the ball pit (see picture of it below) that he had lost his glasses. This ball pit is part of a huge play area at the car dealership where I was getting my oil changed.

playarea

So, yep, this large pregnant woman had to crawl through those two round holes that you see and into the middle of the ball pit. I'm convinced one of the babies lost blood supply as I was squeezing myself through the second hole. I told Max to get out because he was only making matters worse (still throwing balls everywhere) and then proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes combing through the nasty balls trying to find his glasses. I seriously was laughing out loud when I was in there because it had to be the most hilarious sight! We were the only ones in the waiting area but I know there are some security cameras that probably caught it...they better not send that footage in to America's Funniest Home Videos!

Good news...I found the glasses. Bad news...I probably have swine flu from touching all the nastiness that was in there.

Just a little video of me asking Max about what just happened...apparently he thought the glasses were still lost.

Another shower!

Some sweet girls from church and my Sunday school class threw me a diapers and wipes shower this past Saturday morning. Lucky for this pregnant gal my friend and neighbor, Jana, hosted it at her house so I just had to walk across the street to get there. These babies will definitely have some clean bottoms thanks to these girls!

Me and cute JanaDoing what girls do best...talking!This is my friend, Brenda. Brenda is about the size of one of the babies I will be giving birth to in a few weeks...and she's had 3 babies herself!Libby and Jamie...I know Jamie is a blog reader so HI JAMIE!!! :)Well, I did get some things other than diapers and wipes...aren't these blankets adorable!Oh yes, nothing like making fun of the pregnant lady...the old toilet paper around the belly game. :) Here's my other friend named Jana loving every minute of wrapping my belly in toilet paper!Shayler giving directions for the "guess how many jelly beans are in the bottle" game. By the way, Shayler's mommy (my friend Brentley) is expecting a baby in late September! They live two doors down from us so the twins will have a playmate their age - so excited about that!
In more baby news, I had a doctor's appointment this morning and everything seems to be going well. I'm measuring 38 weeks (if I was carrying one baby) which just means my belly is large, but to be expected with twins. Um, and I think I need to lay off the cherry slushies...let's just say the weight gain is going very well. Oh well, that's why they have personal trainers and plastic surgeons, right? A girl can dream... The only bad news was that this doctor said he prefers to wait until 38 weeks to do a scheduled c-section unlike the other one who said 37. But, he said I probably won't have to worry about it because most likely they'll come earlier than that.

Sorry my posts are all baby, baby, baby lately...unfortunately that's about all that I have going on right now. :)

One more thing, I've been so lazy lately about taking my bi-weekly belly shots but these were taken on Saturday so does that count for week 31?

Little visitor

Guess who got to stay at my house yesterday???

jane2

Baby Jane Logan! How cute is she! Denise and Donna were in town for a funeral so Jane stayed at my house. My mother came over to help me because I didn't know how much this belly would get in the way and thank goodness...she and Jane were TIGHT by the time she left! It was so much fun hanging with Donna and Denise for a few hours and we ended the evening with some ice cream from Cold Stone! I saw Dolly, Dawn, Dayna, and Mr. and Mrs. Reber for all of about 2 minutes, but glad I at least got to say hello.

Max loved having Jane around and got some good practice with entertaining babies. I laughed because this morning when we were eating breakfast he asked "How does baby Jane kiss?" Funny what goes through a 5 year old's mind.

(I just realized that I didn't get a picture of Donna. As a seasoned blogger I'm very disappointed in myself.)

In other news, we had another ultrasound this morning. Get this...they estimated the boy's weight to be 4 lbs 12 oz and the girl's weight to be 3 lbs 12 oz! I've got 8 1/2 pounds of baby I'm carrying around right now...no wonder my back hurts! :) They weren't concerned about the 1 lb. difference between the two because the girl has been steadily growing and is still above average on weight. It's always a relief to see them and see that everything appears to be going well. I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Monday and I'm hoping that I can go ahead and get our c-section scheduled for my 37th week (just a little over 6 weeks away). Let the countdown begin!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

WHAT...a 3 day shower???

Yes, it's true...I'm currently in the first day of a 3 day shower - blog shower that is!!

My good blog friends - Denise, Dolly and Donna - came to me and asked if they could give me a shower for these babies. Of course I said yes, but was slightly confused about the logistics - Denise lives in Florida, Dolly in Virginia, and Donna in North Carolina. Well, these creative sisters came up with a great idea (actually my buddy Nikki is probably considered the original blog shower hostess) to host a shower and invite friends from all over the country. So, they posted an invite on their blogs and friends RSVP'd. They even set up my own shower blog...check it out by clicking HERE! Oh, and you may want to check out THIS first post which does a better job of explaining a blog shower.

By the way, quite a few of these girls showering me with gifts are people I've never met...some good gals I tell ya! I first met Denise through my CRAZY high school friend Kristi (just read her post on the shower blog and you'll know why I call her crazy) and then I met Donna and Dolly. And then from there I met all these other people who are all connected - a lot of them through Liberty University. Oh, and then I met moms and mother-in-laws, cousins, friends of friends, etc...it just goes on and on. I never imagined that by starting a simple blog to "scrapbook" about my little family I could meet such great friends, but I have. It's great!

They also sent out party favors to everyone...how awesome is this! Do these girls know me or what?

002

Friends have been posting their sweet gifts and then they'll mail them my way. Everyone gets to see what's going on in the relaxing atmosphere of their own home. In fact, here is where I've been for most of the day...

005
(please notice the bag of peanut butter M&M's, the heating pad, the extra pillows and the glass of sweet tea...pregnancy essentials)

And I managed to watch a little of The Young and the Restless while participating in my shower this afternoon. This girl below recently had a baby and lied about the identity of the father (she said the baby belonged to one guy, but it was really his brother's baby who coincidentally is in love with another woman but this girl below and the real father got married anyway but he's still in love with the other woman - got that?). My tv was muted, but I'm assuming she was praying in a church to ask for forgiveness.

004

I'm having a ball today and I cannot think Denise, Donna and Dolly enough! They really have put so much time and effort into this and it has meant so much to me. THANK YOU REBER SISTAS!!!

Karate Kid

Max finally got to move up from a solid white belt to a white belt with a yellow stripe...the first step in becoming Master Clardy! Let's just say that Max is not super enthralled with karate, but he has persevered (so have his parents) and we couldn't be more proud. This past Wednesday was the official "changing of belts" ceremony.
