There's a first time for everything!

Max has done some new things the past few weeks. Here are some pictures of his latest endeavors.

Max lost his 1st tooth! Four is actually pretty early to lose baby teeth, but Max had some help in loosening his up...he fell off the stairs last year and knocked his teeth loose (also got 6 stitches in his chin). So, he will lose some teeth early, but, unfortunately, his permanent teeth won't grow in for awhile. Thank goodness we live in the South because my son will be toothless for a few years! :)

We're off to Isle of Palms tomorrow morning and I cannot wait!!! Although, I haven't packed a single thing so I gotta get busy!

What we've been up to...

Go, go, go...that's what the Clardys have been doing lately! Thought I would share some pictures of the latest happenings around our neck of the woods...

Last Sunday afternoon we took Max to see a large toy train display. Max has been infatuated with trains for several years so he loves going to things like this. My parents also went along for the ride.

Now this was funny. They had this game/race where two people turn these handles and the faster you turn your handle the faster your train goes. Well, as you can see, Don and I decided to go for it. Please look at Don's face...is he competitive or what! I, on the other hand, was laughing the entire time and STILL almost beat him. He brought this race up again the other day and I think it still bugs him that he only beat me by a hair. What can I say...I'm an athlete.
Max crashed on the couch Friday night about 6:30 and we never heard from him again until ...2:30 in the morning...not what I was hoping for.

On Saturday morning Andrea and I took the kids downtown to "Touch a Truck." The city had parked construction equipment, firetrucks, police cars, etc. on Main Street and let kids get in them and check them out. This was basically heaven for Max. Wait...are they sitting in an excavator??? Also, please take note of Max's new shades - they attach to his glasses and boy are they COOL!I don't know if you can see it, but Max has tears in his eyes. I haven't gotten any pictures of Max during his Guppies swim practice yet, but he does start T-ball practice tonight so I will definitely be the annoying mom with the camera tonight. We started VBS this morning and I'm worn slap out from chasing 15 three and four year olds around all morning...how does Michelle Duggar do it (Denise-feel free to chime in on this one)??? But, it was fun and Max enjoyed his class too. My sister, Kim, and her family come into town on Friday and stay until the following Thursday and then two days later we head to the beach. I CAN'T WAIT...Charleston or BUST!!!

Max graduates!

Wow - I didn't expect today to be so emotional for me, but I cried a few tears I must say. Max looked absolutely adorable and sat in his chair so quietly - we were so proud of him!

The Meyer Center has been like family to me for the past 3 years so I think my tears were more about me saying goodbye to them then actually Max graduating. :) Before Max was born I would drive by the Meyer Center on a regular basis and use to think about all the "special" children that attended - never once did I imagine I would have a child go there. But, now I can't imagine my life without them! All the therapists and teachers have made such a HUGE difference in Max's life and his abilities that I don't think I can ever thank them enough. Thank you Meyer Center peeps...I will miss you guys so much!

He was one of SC's first orthopedic surgeon who saw a need for children with disabilities. 50 years later...

Bad blogger

I win the award this month for "Bad Blogger!" I've been so slack on blogging and taking pictures and I know I will regret it because I use this blog as a way to remember everything Max is doing and saying.

Several reasons for me not blogging...

*our wireless router (and tv) was hit by lightning several weeks ago and now I actually have to sit at a desk if I want to get on the computer. What??? I can't lay out on the couch watching soap operas and blog???

*we've been busy...don't ask me to tell you what we've been doing because I can't remember. But, we left the house this morning at 7:45 and just got back home. It seems like I use to stay at home more in the mornings...you know, I use to be pretty tight with Regis and Kelly. I think it has something to do with the whole summer/winter thing. I tend to hibernate when it's cold - ya know what I mean?

This is Max's last week at The Meyer Center and he has a little graduation on Thursday morning (cap and gown...too cute). Next week he officially becomes a Guppy on our neighborhood swim team, the following week is VBS, then t-ball, then head to the beach for a week...I thought summers weren't suppose to be busy?
