Goppy
Goppy is a bright, young, fun-loving elephant with an incredible passion for America who also believes in Individual Responsibility, Civic Duty, Freedom, Capitalism and Conservatism.
Now, you may be wondering why I'm telling you about this cute little guy. Well, Goppy was "invented" by my sister and her husband, Scott and Andrea (better known as Smitty and Aunt Rea).
Scott and Andrea have always believed in conservatism and feel passionate about teaching those values to their children, Lily and Clay. As you might imagine, there aren't a ton of children books or reading material out there that teach solid, conservative values. So, Andrea and Smitty went to work and wrote a book that would do just that! The book has now been published and is now for sell at goppy.com. Here's a super short video that gives you a quick intro to Mr. Goppy.
And because I want you to love Goppy too I will be doing my first GIVEAWAY here on Mighty Max...can I hear an AMEN?!?! Please leave me a comment with your name and I will have Max draw a winner. The winning name will receive a free signed copy of the book! T-shirts and bumper stickers will soon be available too!
As a proud conservative mom I can't wait for my three little kiddos to learn all about Goppy! I hope you will like him as much as I do and, if you feel the urge, please tell all your friends about Goppy...it's time for a GOPPY REVOLUTION!!!!!
P.S. A BIG Happy Birthday to my nephew, Eric, who turned 21 today and to my nephew, Grant, who turns 9 tomorrow!

Mainly pictures
Speaking of Max, two cute stories that I want to remember. He was eating breakfast and just out of the blue asked me again why he couldn't see out of his left eye (we've talked about this a lot). So, I explained to him again that he was born too early and that his eye just didn't grow like it should have. He then said "Can Lane and Abe see out of their left eye?" I said yes and then he said "Ahhh man, why am I the only one that can't see out of their left eye?" :( I just told him that God made him that way and it just means that he's special. He said "okay" and went back to eating. Oh goodness, I just felt so sorry for him. But, he really does seem to be okay with it. I mean, it's not like he even knows what it like to see with both eyes so he really doesn't even know what he's missing.
And then tonight I told him that his birthday was coming up soon (November 3rd). And he said "Really? Is my birthday coming BEFORE I go to heaven?" I told him I sure hope so. For some reason, he has been asking so many questions about dying, heaven, are there toys in heaven, how do you die, etc. His questions can really stump me sometimes...my inquisitive little boy.

P P W G D
Zaxby's Zensation Salad. I tried this several weeks ago and now I'm completely addicted. Yep, even went through the drive-thru today and ordered one. I just checked the nutritional information on their website and it's over 800 calories...and that's without the dressing I pour all over it. I've heard foods with a lot of calories really aggravate PPWGD.
Chips Ahoy cookies...the entire bag spread out between 1 maybe 2 days. Now, this could be Jamie's fault because she brought a yummy cookies and cream dessert to us after the babies were born. I'm not lying - I have probably made this 10 times since then, but it also got me addicted to these cookies too. Jamie, my thighs thank you.
And this next item was also a result of a meal that was brought to us by Carey who is a sweet girl in my Bible study (hi Carey!). She brought this great chicken parmesan and also a package of Cole's garlic bread...I had never had it before but it is the BEST garlic bread out there (got to get the toast - not the loaf)! And for some reason I now feel the need to serve it with every meal or for a quick snack.
Now, I actually combine the next two things and at first glance you're probably going to think it's a pretty healthy snack. Think again. Have you ever checked out the amount of carbs in granola??? Well, let me tell you it's A LOT but this stuff is like candy to me...so good. By the way, I use the vanilla flavored yogurt.
Again, the next thing seems like it wouldn't cause one to gain weight. But, for me, I can't just drink a Diet Dr. Pepper by itself. Nope, need to drink it with something slathered with peanut butter, maybe covered in chocolate, or something crunchy and salty.
So, I feel like I need to address this health issue of mine immediately before it gets out of hand. So, starting on Monday (because you can't start on any other day) I will begin treatment for this problem of mine. I'm going to need your help...if you see me and I have one of these items in my hand (or mouth) please tackle me and take it away immediately. But since it's still Saturday, I've got to go downstairs and get a cookie...P.S. My friend, Brentley, had her baby yesterday! Her name is Ella Ray and she's beautiful...click HERE to see for yourself!
P.S.S. Don't you love my cheesy song I've got playing? I LOVED this song back in the day and happened to see a special on TV the other day with Peter Cetera singing it. Uhhh...yes...it's the theme song from Karate Kid. Okay, got get off this blog music thing I'm going through right now.

3 months old!
Quick, get the camera...Abe is happy! Poor guy. I'm making him sound horrible and he's really not as fussy as I guess he could be. In this picture he's showing you only half of a smile. When he smiles big it covers his whole face and is the cutest thing ever!
And this is random but for some reason made me really laugh. Max and I were eating dinner tonight and all of a sudden Max starts this conversation:
Max: Mommy, I saw a commercial and it said that Fruit Loops are now healthy to eat.
Me: Why are Fruit Loops healthy?
Max: Because it said Fruit Loops now have healthy fiber in them.
And that was the end of our conversation. He just went right back to eating. And guess what, apparently Fruit Loops do have fiber in them now. Do commercials target our kids or what?!?!?

Why I haven't been blogging
Well, I've officially diagnosed him with colic. Now, I'm not a doctor (I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express) but this boy loves to fuss during the day. When he's happy he's really happy and laughs and coos (that will last, oh, about 15-30 minutes). But when he's mad, well, you better put your ear muffs on.
The good news is that both Lane and Abe are sleeping through the night (wait, let me go knock on some wood and I'll be right back). Abe has actually been doing this since 9 weeks and Lane about 10 or 11. Now, we were getting them up at 10:00 and feeding them (they pretty much slept through it) but we cut that out 3 nights ago and they have gone from around 7:00 until anywhere between 5:30 and 7:30. So, that's the good news. Again, the bad news would be that Abe (and sometimes Lane) doesn't particularly like daytime hours. Oh, and Abe still does not love his car seat. By the way, thanks for all your suggestions and I have tried every single one of them. The only thing that seems to work is if myself or someone else sits back there with them and talks to them and that's not always a guarantee.
So, that would be why I'm not on the computer much anymore. I've been going to bed early to prepare myself for the next day. A day filled with spending time with my favorite almost 6 year old and these cute things...
P.S. The song on my blog is NOT dedicated to Don. :) I just love this song and since I never get to listen to music in the car anymore I put it on my blog so I can hear it whenever I'm on the computer. You know, because I'm on my computer a lot these days.
UPDATE: Please don't yell at me or tell me I'm a bad mom, but I got desperate and put a Baby Einstein video on for the twins. They are LOVING it right now! The video says for 3+ months old and they'll be 3 months tomorrow. They're mature for their age, right?

HELP!
Abe HATES his car seat! When the car is moving he will calm down (most of the time) but as soon as I apply the brakes I can hear him start breathing heavy. When I finally get to a stop...well, let the screaming begin! Today was the first day I actually waited in car line to drop off Max for school which meant us sitting still and you know what that meant...Abe screaming! Now Lane doesn't love it either but she will eventually fall asleep as long as her younger brother isn't throwing a fit.
C'mon girls...help me out! Does anyone have any suggestions or things I can do to make him like riding in the car? Do you think he will outgrow it? All I want to do is drive to Target in peace!
