My sweet boy

So I've been working on a project for the past few days. I have a TON of digital photos that are taking up a lot of computer space so I'm trying to delete the bad ones, get rid of duplicates and organize them by date. After that's all done I'm going to have them put on CD's so I can get them off my computer (by the way, Shutterfly will do it for you pretty cheap and I can also keep my pictures stored on their site).

Anyway, in doing that, I have come across some pictures that I haven't looked at in awhile. Here are just a few favorites of my boy - starting with the day he was born and was a tiny little thing!

Texas Roadhouse

Yeast rolls with cinnamon butter...sweet tea...yummy grilled chicken salad...country music...my boy, Max, sitting right next to me...doesn't get much better than that!

Home again, home again

Yesterday was Max's first day back to school after having hand, foot, mouth for over a week. It was so nice to have a few hours to myself and get some things done. Well, it didn't last long...he woke up this morning with a bad cough and yucky nose and eyes. We've played with his trains, did coloring/finger painting and watched a movie - any other suggestions on how to keep a 4 year old entertained???

I'm addicted to this blog. Some of you may have already seen it, but wow, this guy has such a positive spirit about him. Check it out when you get a few minutes. His wife is in the hospital waiting for a double lung transplant. Oh, and she also just happened to give birth to their daughter who was born over 3 1/2 months premature. Makes Max's early arrival seem like no big deal! :)

More snow pics

We went over my mom and dad's house for lunch - mom was making some good soup! My sister and her kids came over and so did a good friend and her 3 girls. They decided to have a snowball fight in the front yard - 6 kids against my dad! Max finished off the afternoon with THREE cups of hot chocolate - too cute!

SNOW

It snowed last night! This is a rare occurrence in SC so the world pretty much stops when we get the white stuff. Max's first words this morning when he saw the snow were "Wow - this is cool!" Too funny. My sister and a neighbor just came and got Max and were going to pull him on the sled back to my sister's house (she lives just two streets over). We live on a golf course and there's a hill right behind our house - perfect place for sledding and he had a BALL!

I can't help but think of Tyler today. He would have loved being in the snow. It just doesn't seem fair.

Please say a prayer for a girl in my Bible study. She got called out of Bible study yesterday and was told that her 4 month old son had died. It was SIDS. They are completely devastated. He was just dedicated in church several weeks ago and to think they will have his funeral in the same place.

It's hard to think about going to two children's funerals over the next two days. Life is short and we don't know how long we have on this earth - all the more reason to hug our children a little tighter today.

Hand, Foot, Mouth

Yep, Max has the dreaded hand, foot, mouth disease (isn't that a lovely name). He has sores around his mouth, on the back of his throat and on his nose. Now, do you think my child has complained? NO!! The doctor could not believe that he wasn't complaining about his throat being sore. He drank his orange juice this morning and never said a word about it burning. That's my boy...the STUD!!!

My Cowboys lost. Does anyone else think that Tony Romo needs to stay away from Jessica Simpson before a playoff game?

My obsession

I got reprimanded this morning for not posting more often...but I must say that I feel like life around our house has been pretty boring since the holidays. Not too much to report!

I will say that I'm completely obsessed with anything related to the presidential election and my husband is dreading the next 10 months! I told him that this is like football season for him - except my "season" last a lot longer than his. :) I watch all the debates, regularly check the political websites/blogs, watch all the news shows at night and pretty much have FOX News on 24 hours a day - would you consider that obsessed?? This has been going on for a long time too...Max turned 1 on the day of the 2004 election which I thought was awesome. I dressed him up (and took lots of pictures) and toted him to the polls with me at 7:30 am. My parents always taught me the importance of voting so it's something that I will definitely pass on to Max.

Am I a nerd or what?
