Another day, another tooth!

Yes, that's right, my Max lost another tooth...from now on feel free to call him "snaggle tooth Max"! He looks so cute and now speaks with a little lisp - makes hearing him talk even cuter! Here's the play by play...

The tooth was barely attached on Thursday night when I was brushing his teeth so I told him to just keep wiggling it and maybe it would come out. Well, it hadn't come out by Friday afternoon and he REALLY wanted another Transformer (that's what the tooth fairy is currently bringing in the Clardy house) so he actually let my mom pull it. I DO NOT PULL TEETH - the sound of the roots breaking is too much for me to handle. So, everyone gathered around and my mom tied string (okay, it was dental floss because I didn't have any thread) around the tooth...And then my mom went in for the kill...(By the way, you have to watch my mom. She told him to count to 5 but then pulled it when he got to 3. Kind of like when I was little...one night she told us what we were about to eat was country fried steak. Well, it wasn't. It was liver fried to make it look like country fried steak...just a weee bit different. And after chewing on it for 10 minutes and it never getting smaller I began to figure things out.)

SUCCESS!!! Max was a little shaken up after the removal, but that didn't last long... BECAUSE now he looks like his hero older cousin Clay!!!
Random shot of Lily soon after the removal...she sure thought something was funny!
My mom and I took the babies to the Upstate Women's Show on Friday morning. It was at the big Expo Center here in Greenville and they had hundreds of vendors showcasing their goods. We're talking food, clothes, makeup, wraps that make your cellulite go away in 45 minutes, etc. My sister, Andrea, was helping out her friend, Jennifer, at her booth. Jennifer was selling very cute baby items and I bought some really cute monogrammed sippy cups. It took us forever to get through all the rows though because the twins attracted a lot of attention. A room full of women means a lot of oohhing and ahhing over cute babies especially cute twins....is that vain to say my own babies are cute?Check out Andrea's shoes...it's hard to tell in this picture how high the heel was, but trust me, they were massive. Andrea's real practical like that...wear your most comfortable shoes on a day where you're going to be standing ALL day long. BUT, as most women know...don't let a little foot discomfort/pain/corns get in the way of looking good...right?!?!Andrea with Jennifer and Brandee who is also a mother to twins. These girls are running buds and are training for their 2nd half marathon in October. And last but definitely not least, here are some pictures of some sweet babies! Grandmommy with two of her three favorite grandchildrenHere are the twins before church yesterday...don't they look so preppy? Most of these two outfits are courtesy of my sister Shari. I say most because Abe (better known around here as Tank, Chunks, etc.) has already outgrown the little Polo shirt she got to go with his shorts. Thank you Shari...they looked adorable!

Sniff Sniff :(

My sweet baby boy started K-5 yesterday. Where has the time gone because it sure seems like yesterday he was this little... And now look at him with his Transformer backpack...too cool for school!Max is going to kindergarten at our church's school. He went there last year for K-4 so it doesn't seem like such a huge transition for him or us, but a big milestone in his life for sure! There are 4 boys and 9 girls in his class and Mrs. Haynes is his teacher.

First things first...we have to eat our very nutritious breakfast! Max with mommy and daddyAunt Rea came over to stay with the babies while I took him to school and she brought him TWO new Transformers in celebration of his 1st day of K-5!
Walking in with daddyMax and Mrs. Haynes. This picture was actually taken at Open House on Monday night. He had to find his basket and put his folder in it...Then he had to hang up his backpack...And then he found his seat and Mrs. Haynes gave him some instructions...And this is how we left him...writing his name with a big, fat pencil!
Two quick stories...when I picked him up yesterday afternoon I asked him if he missed me and he said yes. So I asked him why he missed me and he said "because I wanted to go home and play with my Transformers." Then last night I laid down in bed with him for awhile. I told him that I sure was glad that Jesus gave him to me and he replied "I sure am glad Rea gave me my two Transformers." Does this boy have a one track mind or what???

on August 25, 2001!

Happy Anniversary Don...I love you! What a ride the past 8 years have been and I'm glad I've been on it with you!

P.S. The night we got engaged! I was living in TX and house sitting for my sister while they were out of town. Don surprised me by flying down from Greenville and showing up at my sister's door. I was so shocked I just stood there at the glass door repeatedly saying "What are you doing here?" He held up the ring and finally had to ask me if he could come in. Good memory!

sorry...can't think of a title

I don't have much time, so I'm just going to post some pictures. I promise I'm going to get better at blogging - posting and commenting. Like another new mom said this weekend, I feel like I now live my life in 3 hour cycles. Unfortunately, in those 3 hours I have very little time to just do whatever I want. And I'll be honest with you, trying to come up with a blog post seems to require more brain power than I have right now. But, it's really just pictures of the babies most people want to see...not my useless chatter!

My sweet Abe. He is such a happy baby. Well, except when you start to put him in the crib. It's actually funny because as I'm walking to the crib he'll start to whimper. He cries for awhile when I put him down, but then usually sleeps pretty well after that. And here's my sweet Lane dressed up for the first time in a skirt. She's beginning to smile more and make noises, but she definitely makes you work hard for them! She's also starting to fill out and get a little chubby like her brother, Abe.Our friends, Jamie and Christine, were so nice to bring us dinner on Saturday night. They have two boys, Zeke and Gabe, who are so adorable and sweet. Jamie with LaneAnd Christine with AbeHere are the twins with Gabe who is almost exactly one year older than them. That child is always smiling and just plain adorable. Although, he sure didn't like his mama holding another baby! Here's me with the kiddos before church. Sunday was our first day back and I was pretty much worn out by the time we got there. It's hard work getting 3 kids ready by 8:30, but we did it and actually made it there on time! And Max lost one of his top front teeth! The tooth fairy around here use to bring him a Thomas train, but she obviously knows that he now likes Transformers because that's what he got.And last week the girls in my Sunday school class had a little shower for my friend, Brentley. We met at a restaurant in downtown Greenville and had a great time. I was definitely "Chatty Cathy" because I hadn't been out like that in a long time. It was so nice to be out with some great gals!See, look how crazy I was getting that night...rabbit ears over Brenda's head...I was out of control!Okay, that's it for now. Shocker - I hear one of the babies in the monitor... :)

Nice break at the lake!

Ahhhhhhh...so nice! My mom and sister were so nice to offer to keep the babies yesterday so that Don, Max and I could head to the lake with some friends. It was a gorgeous (but HOT) day and we had so much fun!

Max was so sleepy riding on the boat...sweet boy.Max and daddy!Taking off from the dock...ooops, we left Don and Nate! How beautiful is Jana and Todd's lake house? It's on Lake Keowee which is a great lake with gorgeous mountain views!Brentley, Shaler and baby girl Reeves who will make her debut in September and we can't wait!Jana who took THESE pictures of the twins. I always get low camera self esteem when she pulls this mack daddy out!We happened upon these studs hanging out in the lake!Jana and Daphne...yes, there are two Jana's. This is Jana F. (on the left) and Jana C. is the photo gal.Jana C's husband, Kyle, and their adorable son, Bennett. Check out his WubbaNub - Abe has the same one!Still in the boat trance...Daphne and Shaler tubingJana C and her Cheerwine...a Southern thing I think although yesterday was the first time I ever tasted it.Me (the pasty white girl), Jana C, Brentley and Jana F
